A circular walk around Stocks reservoir  Sun 18th Nov 2012

An 8 mile walk around Stocks Reservoir, would be better with drier conditions underfoot, quite muddy in places

The route goes North and someway beyond the reservoir before returning onthe other side

This bridge is "officially closed due to storm damage, but it seemed OK to me

The track now leads on to open moorland

The path drops in to the valley to cross the River Hodder

A footbridge !!

The route is "waymarked" all the way around with the posts on the right of the photo

The reservoir comes back into view as we are now on the far side

Me, back at the car  trying to decide whether I enjoyed the mud or not

On the way back I passed Sawley Abbey near Clitheroe, so stopped for a look around.
